John Barker is the Founder, President, and CEO of ClearBox Rights LLC, an independent IP rights management company whose mission is to transform the management of intellectual property for owners and creators as well as connect and empower these owners and creators. Prior to his role at ClearBox, Barker founded the Integrated Copyright Group, which he later sold to BMG Rights. He was President of the Copyright Society of the South, a member of CMA, NARAS, Leadership Music 2012, ACM, the Copyright Society of the USA, and AIMP. He co-organized Interested Parties Advancing Copyright (IPAC) in 2014, participated in all three copyright office roundtables that year, and frequently visits congressional offices in D.C.


Barker previously served as General Manager of Publishing and Copyrights for The Bensen Company and A&R Director for Words Records. He has worked with a variety of clients, including the catalogs of Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, Brad Paisley, Ray Stevens, Craig Wiseman, Kenny Loggins, Mike Reid, Jerry Chesnut, Bill Monroe, John Anderson, Loretta Lynn, Allen Shamblin, Don Schlitz, Songwriters Guild of America, Senator Orrin Hatch, Albert E.
