Gaurav Sharma is the Chief Operating Officer at Saavn. As COO, Gaurav is focused on business operations, administrative and reporting procedures, as well as policies that promote company culture, vision, and operational efficiency. Prior to leading operations, Gaurav led Saavn’s Data Science team for over 6 years, focusing on the core goal of automating efficient, data-centric decision-making across the company. Gaurav’s team takes a research and data driven approach to monitoring Saavn’s daily operations, and works to ensure that Saavn’s unique culture is consistent across every office in India and the United States.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and The Peabody Conservatory, Gaurav has over 10 years of experience working in music and tech. Prior to Saavn, Gaurav served as Director of Product Development at Awaaaz.com, a “Music 2.0” web start-up funded by Harvard University. Gaurav has also worked in A&R, as well as in lifestyle marketing at Sony Music Entertainment. In 2010, Gaurav led a marketing plan for the Nissan Cube that won the 2010 Baltimore Marketing Excellence Award.
