Jacqueline Charlesworth, an attorney at the law firm Covington & Burling, practices intellectual property law, with an emphasis on copyright issues. Before joining Covington’s New York office, she served for three years as General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington, D.C. While at the Copyright Office, Charlesworth had primary responsibility for interpretation of the U.S. Copyright Act and oversaw a wide range of litigation, legislative, regulatory, and policy matters. Before joining the Copyright Office, she was in private practice, where she handled IP-related litigation and transactional matters. Prior to that, she served as Sr. VP and General Counsel of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) and Sr. VP and General Counsel of The Harry Fox Agency.
